DE-CAT OTHER THAN K-TEC

Does anyone know of a company that can do a de-cat pipe for my 1.4 RT OTHER than K-TEC?

IMO they seem to be a tad expensive!

Take a look at some of the prices in demon tweeks or sililar for say magnex - makes Ktec look cheap!

Also, will a de-cat be any good without a performance backbox?

And finally, i thought it was law all cars after 92 (or around that time) had to have a cat?

decat... 75quid?? WTF??? its just a straight pipe!!!!! I have had one. It was done on a local exhaust shop... one pipe with 2 flanges welded on it 12quid. DONE!

Or a Kitchen Roll tube!! (cant use Bog Roll tubes as they are far to flimsy for a De-Cat pipe in my experience.) Sounds good though!

Its easy to say make one, ive got a hole load of engineers and equipment at my disposal but its not worth the hassle for the sake of £40!

Its a case of getting the measurements and making it near on perfectly true so that it seals, a fabricators going to charge you more than £40 to knock one up, and what ever you do dont try and nick the flanges off the cat cos then you have shafted you cat altogether - you will want it for MOT time ( do a search for the debates on this before everyone starts that old argument again)

If you have the option get a silenced one off Ktec, it wont sound any different to normal (thats what i have)

that scorpion one was on the motor when i bought it, i haveseen it advertised on various websites and mags going between 75 and 85, the magnex one is over 100 some places!
