Dead Car......

Went out this morning and the car hesitated ever so slightly then fired up just fine with no lights on the dash or anything but then an hour after driving it I went to start it again and it gave a very poor effort and wouldn't start, Tried it again and the same weak effort,

Got some jump leads of some work men and tried to jump it off their van but still wouldn't go and we left it for a few minutes hoping to put some charge in the battery but the efforts got more and more pathetic each time we tried it.

It's on the original battery (7 Years Old) so is it likely it just needs a new one or is it something more expensive and technical?

Cheers
Andy.

Not this morning but I've not driven it recently but when I have it's been a lot of short journeys so could have slowly drained it.

Annoying thing is that it's stuck in the UEA Sportspark Carpark :o

Any recommendations on what battery to get? Bosch?

Probably just going to go to Halfords for it as I kind of need it asap.

I have no idea what's going on but trying to jump it was not helping at all.... Just got top wait for the Girlfriend to get home then I'll grab some tools buy a battery and set about changing it in the gym car park... Embarassing? Oh yes :o

Fingers crossed that it is just the battery.

Just worried as the car has slowly been throwing problem after problem at me so just have it in my head this will be another costly fix.... Car is on 98k miles so just feel its going to become a money pit which I do not want...Maybe this will be enough to convince the Girlfriend I need a new car :)

Know anyone with a frauds trade card? You get almost 50% off batteries with one ;)

Not that I know of... Have a friend who works for the local ford dealership in the van service area so not sure if he could sort me one cheap but need it this afternoon as really needing my car as got some time off work and have things to be doing.

Get a battery from halfords, sorted.

I hope so.

New battery fitted and it fired up 1st time :)

Happy days just £95 poorer for it!

It was either Halfords own for around £75 or a Bosch on e for £95 so I chose Bosch... Sure I could have found it cheaper elsewhere but needed my car and was not going to leave it in the gym carpark overnight.

Meh..... I would just rather have a Bosch battery rather than Halfords own... Just the way I am.
