Decat Fitting Advice

Recently bought myself a decat pipe, from ktec, it's the Milltek one. I currently have a yozza catback on my car, but when I have had a little look the decat pipe is much longer than the original cat, so do I cut the decat pipe to length or should it slot over the end of the yozza, can anyone help please

Just buy a yozza problem solved why would you buy a miltek when you have a yozza any way phone them up they don't list the yozza decat on there website

I didn't fancy spending £100 on a metal tube. Though 50 was ok. I will give them a ring tomorrow.

Its not worth modifying it mate. Scorpion do a decat on ebay for £60. But I also have a Yozza system and the scorpion decat seemed longer than the cat and ended up pushing my tail pipes out further which I didn't really like.

Can't comment on the Ktec decat. Thats the one I'd probably go for unless you can get a Yozza decat. Which I don't think is available anymore?.

Oh and for the record, if you don't want the engine management light coming on (which it will do with a decat)

You need to leave the second lambda connected but not screwed into the decat. Mines just shoved up the side of the heatshield.

I used an old lambda sensor to screw into the decat which is connected to nothing. Works a treat.

Lol at buying the one that says its only for molten exhausts then wondering why it won't fit a yozza exhaust.

I know I'll just didn't think. It was the same as the ktr one which said it worked with all exhaust just was s few pound cheaper. I'll send it back tomorrow get the correct one. Thanks for the help anyway guys.

I never said get the scorpion one. It's a cheap option but I think it's too long personally.

Id go for the ktec one.

I have the Ktec exhaust a swell on the motorway it actually makes my ears pop lol no back seat either. Good quality too but while your doing that get a new lamba sensor there usually fooked

Lol no point in doing the lambda unless there's any faults or symptoms. It's not exactly hard to get to.

True I would just do it for the piece of mind. If my exhaust is this loud what the hell is a yozza like? Waiting for a new exhaust from Fred according to a post there's a new one in the pipes

What's all this talk of lambda sensors , getting new ones etc .... and not connecting it ? I think everyone will experience something different . With my Yozza exhaust and Yozza decat the light came on after a couple of weeks and that was with both lambda sensors connected and screwed in as they should be . It doesn't do anything to the car , affect performance , it's just a light . I got rid of the light with my OBD2 scanner and the light never reappeared . :D

Also in my opninion the decat did bugger all in terms of performance , anyone who says it does it's probably all in their head cos they expect it to . At most if your lucky you might see a couple of bhp increase which we all know means bugger all in terms of performance :approve: . I don't even think it made any difference to the sound of the exhaust as they are already quite loud compared to other exhausts mainly due to it being a straight through centre section with no silencer .

I don't like warning lights! I used an old busted lambda just to screw in to block the hole. Kept the original one connected and tucked up the side of the heat shield. Light came on for a bit then went and never came back. But before I done that i had the lambdas in as they should be the light kept coming on even though I kept resetting it with an obd reader.

The first lambda sensor has been changed recently, the one in the cat can be tucked away securely somewhere, i'm pretty sure the front one deals with any fuelling changes and the back is to check the cat is working by checking emissions, I may be wrong, thats just what i thought. Also i'm only getting this cause I don't want to pay silly money for a new cat as mine has fallen apart

Your right mate . The second sensor in the Cat is just to show the Cats working , it's the PreCat sensor that deals wth the fuelling etc ... You'll still need a Cat come MOT time cos it won't pass with a Decat thats for sure .

I need to find a friendly mot tester, who likes boxes of beer, cause the Tamora is in need of an mot and I really can't be bothered swapping the decats out on that.
