decat on my 172 after mot?

as it says guys wot sort of problems will i get if i decat my car (engine light coming on so on) ?

faster i know but i hear people have trouble with it not running right on tick over will a remap sort this out and if i do decat will the engine light come on ?thanks hope u can help

no problems unless your the sort of wierdo that gets obsessive about a light coming on the dash lol.

im gutted i sold my decat actually, sounds better, seems to have a bit more top end kick but not sure if that was placebo or not and also my mpg increased.

Faster? You would'nt notice the gains. More to do with noise and lumpy idle, but you'll get used to that.

there are plenty of garages out there that will pass a car with no cat, trust me

Same here but the RStuner sorted the flat spot out.

Also your light may not come on, mines been on once in 5 years. And no the light aint broke before anyone says.

I had a decat fitted but the engine management light never came on. To get the full benefit you'll need to get a remap.

my decats been on six months now, lights never come on, idles still fine.

been thinking about de-cating dont no if to do it or not. i think the only thing that mite be puting me off if how much louder is it gonna be. also has any one had a (de-cat and a straight through middle section) done by (longlife custom exhaust).....

Personally disagree. Free's it up quite a bit on a 172 although less so on a 182

Idle shouldnt be effected

just to let u know if u have the engine light on turn key off turn the back window wiper stick on off on off so tats 2x and turn key on this will bring up fault codes if u then google it u will now wots wrong just incase u people dnt now how to do this

where are you based mate see if you can meet up with a member with a decat and straight through mid section thats what i did. (at a meet)

wales mate i have a long life exhaust fitted so just in need of the decat and map umm think there is some1 on here selling a decat on ebay so going to watch that if not get a new 1
