decat + std exhaust

gains - 1, 2 bhp?

Noise - opens it up a bit more?

I also wondered who did this. I saw the decat pipe is 2.5", but original is smaller. Doesn't this affect airflow?

they can be fitted straight onto a standard zoust & it will give gains, but obviously work better with a bigger bore than standard, i.e 2.5" cat back.

tbh.... its a staight section of pipe, as long as there is no restriction they are all the same..

some are built better than others, but i doubt you will find fault with any..

I have a decat along with standard 182 exhaust. Sounds so much better and for 80 pounds from GDI,its the cheapest by some way. It definately revs more freely too.

I'm interested in this mod also,but I would like to ask what is going on with the light in the dashboard....

I'm waiting my modified inlet manifold from BenR so will they work together fine ?(other mods are: K&N panel filter and reprogrammed ecu)

Think i will wait until bb performance's decat is released...seeing as they are so close to me.

Hope the 2nd lamba sensor thing wont come on?

My light hasn't thrown up yet but reading from other people's comments,it really does vary from car to car. No big deal even if it did come up TBH.

Andy....Try K-tec...they might be able to help you out.

Have a GDI decat on and noticed the difference, frees up a lot once the revs are high. Best mod possible for £80 in my opinion.
 
How easy is it to change between a decat pipe and the cat? i.e. for MOT, etc. I would consider it on my 172 with standard exhaust if it ain't too difficult.

Does the original exhaust need to be chopped, then fit in the decat pipe with clamps? Or how would it be done? Could someone enlighten me? Cheers

But what about low rpm ??? Does it make any difference or will u loose power there ?

tbh, its a swine, two man job, one needs to be under the car and the other person must have child like hands to reach down the back of the manifold

some people get their cat modded along with the de cat, so its a bolt in/out job underneath

Get a custom de-cat from somewhere like pro-speed and it's a ten minute, 4 bolt job to remove the de-cat
 
i fitted one to my standard system, and it pulled ever so slightly better, but didnt make any noise.. now my full system is on..
