Decisions on my 172

I have a ph2 172, 02 reg, 68k miles.

It needs -

A full service
Full belt changes
Full suspension change
New driveshafts

So I can sell the 172 and but a new car for roughly 1.6k

or spend 1k on the clio.

I don't have the budget to go for anything wacky, so I new car would be something like a Otavia VRS or 3 series estate.

Any suggestions?

Also can you get decent VRS's for £1.6k?

I need to bite the bullet and get that list sorted really!

Would get me a 10-11 old MK1 vrs maybe, but would I be buying a money pit...!

I've changed cars a few times recently when things have gone wrong / needed doing but always seem to buy worse cars!

Do the service yourself and buy some second hand shocks and a drive shaft off here and you'll cut £200 odd off that bill.

I'm in a similar situation mate... car needs a lot of work. I'm biting the bullet, making it mint and just enjoying it

As Dave as touched on a little.. with a low budget you are more at risk of buying a lemon.

Better the Devil you know... get the clio sorted .

Well it's time to start showing the Clio some love..

Booked in at TCR for belts / dephaser / waterpump and service tomorrow..

Next step after that is cup shocks all round and cooksport springs followed by rear pads and discs..
