Defrosting The Clio!

Well, ive been wondering this for a while.

If i go out to my car on a morning and i turn it on, then shut the door to scrape the windows whiles its defrosting/warming up, will the auto lock activate ???

Because, i usually wind the window down just so i can get back in in case of an emergency!

I didnt get a spare key for the car so i dont want it to lock.

Just wondering if anyone could give me some info on this subject.

Thanks, Sam!

  Whichever has fuel
needs to go over 5mph before it locks itself.

Jordan is clearly too fast!

Just hold the lock button down inside the car mate and it'll turn itself off. Just to be on the safe side.

On a serious note, can you actually get heated windscreens fitted to Clio's?
I'd be interested in that TBH. I could do with a new windscreen anyway because of how many stone chips I've got. A heated one would be schweet in this kind of weather.

I start it then go back in house and get warm water.

My missus's MINI has a heated front screen and it's f**king brillinat tbh. Something all cars should have imho!

The Auto lock function is for when the keys are in ur pocket and if you were to accidently press the button whilst the car is parked it will automatically self lock its self again providing you are within range of the car and do not open a door or else it will then remain unlocked if a door is opened. The car should not relock itsself after you have unlocked it and opened a door, as for the autolocking over a certain speed this is called anti-hijack and my 182 does not do this , so i wasnt aware it was a feature on the clios

Bit off topic but didn't someone on here wire up their starter motor to the central locking somehow so they could start the engine from the warmth of the house and still keep the car lock?

You can turn that on mate, just hold the 'lock' button on the inside I think and it'll turn on.
