Delay in Engine switching off.

Hi,

I rarely drive our Clio but today I noticed that I can switch the ignition off and remove the key and the engine still runs for a few seconds, The needles all drop but you can still rev the engine.

It's a 56 plate Clio 1.4.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Anything to worry about?

That is weird...

I don't understand how the dash dies but the engine doesn't!
