Dell Laptops

Has anyone got or had one? I ask because i have had mine for 3 years and a few weeks ago i noticed that the CD / DVD reader was not doing anything. I just thought it was a dodgy disc so i never bothered. Yesterday i tried it again and it still never worked, so i got onto to dell support and my warrenty expired on the 16th of June. They guy said you can get a 10 day grace. After a few mins he came back and said we will send you one under warrenty on Monday. Now thats what i call service and support.

We sell a lot of Dell stuff.

I have a Latitude D420 as my own laptop.. which is designed to replace my Macbook Pro, and, I think it's up to the job (which, is quite something, as IMO the Macbook Pro was the most perfect laptop around.. but this Dell is starting to sway me )

Had a similar experience at work with them, was out of warrenty but as it was less than 2 weeks after expiration they sent an engineer out to fix it anyway. We have a couple of hundred at work and not many of them break.

Well they have sent a new optical drive and it is faster than the last one. Winner.

they fixed a d800 laptop for me the other week it ended up with a better graphics card and a faster cpu
