he is ages away but is well worth the trip

he did my cambelt timing for me - more than happy, he will be doing my belts when due also

problem is round here I wouldn't trust any garage to touch my 172....

you need a specialist to do your cambelt/ dephaser its not a job 'any garage' can do

Only 90 miles - 1.5 hours.
Can make a day of it as he will drop you at the Clarke's village shopping place.

Up to you though, can take the risk of a local garage and doing it wrong. Then be on here complaining that your car is broken because the garage didn't do it right. Then you will probably end up going to Dan to have it put right. Depends if you want to make
2 trips to get it sorted or get it done once, and properly! ;)

Someone else from pymouth had his belts changed by a local garage, they messed it up and bent valves he was without a car for a while. Even when they did it right, the timing was wrong. Was taken to Dan and he fixed it all.

Oh hi.

I currently have 2 spaces left on my offer of cambelt/dephaser change for £500. Normally £600. This includes oil and filter and aux kit change. All genuine parts too.

Cant go wrong with Dan :)

Well worth the drive IMHO, and like mentioned he is right near clarkes village where there are loads of shops and restaurants etc so its not a bad place to be for a day :)

I did indeed, they had incorrectly done it the first time and bent valves as a result, then on the second attempt they had inserted the crank locking pin incorrectly, end result was 150bhp, left me and made 185.

mine wasn't timed correctly so Dan sorted mine and now it runs better and my MPG has improved(think he found tippex too)

like I said I will be going to Dan for sure when the belts are due :) nice drive up there too and the gf had fun in the shops lol

if we are on about Arron- he did take it back there it was a hard for him because the garage who did it were family friends who he knows very well so he couldn't go and 'kick off', they also took the car back worked on it again and it was still not right. they were a place who 'thought it was a simple job'

he trusted them and learned a lesson also.... we live and learn right :approve:

When could I book it into you? The garage who did my cambelt I think thyve fucked up as feel less power when could I book in?

Had this in today, dephaser was horrendous. Timing was out (crank pin in the wrong hole), Lower timing belt cover broken, bolts missing from the upper timing belt cover, bolt missing that holds the loom to the head under the throttle body, Cambelt tensioner wrong, Cambelt idler loose, Cambelt tension too low, wrong bolt in the upper engine mount to timing belt cover (They'd used the short one that was missing from the very back of the timing belt cover) Aux tensioner not replaced, Aux idler not replaced, Timing bungs reused and siliconed back in, too much silicone used and had blocked the oil return.
