Depollution Unit

  Clio 172
Chaps,

I had the Inlet Phelum off the car a few weeks ago and I noticed that instead of oil being forced up through the cam cover bolts that oil seemed to be leaking from this box unit that was bolted to the top.

I went to Renault today to see if I could source a new gasket and after a few funny moments and random hand gestures he showed me his screen and I pointed at the unit.

Depollution Unit? - god knows what it is/does, but he wanted £78 for a new gasket!!!

Well after I momentary relapse I walked off in amazement.

So can I source one elsewhere as that is a biblical amount of money to pay for a gasket.

Cheers
Al

yeah the gasket is over £70

most of the cars left the factory without them, just use silicone, everyone else does!

thats the oil strainer/breather plate for future referecne

Well I called it a breather unit when I went in there but he called it a depollution unit.

So I can unbolt it and use some sillicone to reseal it?
