Detailing Spray

Hi,

Firstly I'd like to apologise as I know this has probably been asked a zillion times before...

I'm after a good detailing spray which can can used straight after washing. Ideally I like a one that does the following:

A) Reduces scratching while drying the car
B) Enhances the look of the paint

I already own SRP, EGP and P21 wax but with the weather being so cold at the min I really don't fancy spending hours and hours outside :(

Any opinions?

Thanks
Alex

Best ones I have used overall are the Sonus ones, but not really used any that haven't done what you wanted!

If your using it to aid drying I would get something that works out cheap in bulk such as Meguiars Last Touch.

Spray it on the wet panel before using the Waffle Weave drying towel to add lubrication.

Is Meguiars Last Touch the only formula that can be bought in bulk?

Will it strip any products already on the car? Will it also enhance the cars look?

Thanks for the info guys :)

There are a few that can be purchased in bulk the Megs one normally works out cheaper.

Won't strip anything and will refresh the just waxed look.

Vote here for Megs Last touch, bought in bulk which is what i need, but tried the new megs ultimate quick detailer, which im liking. But for bulk reasons staying with last touch

Why would you add lubrication to a wet surface? :S

Its a good technique especially on darker cars and ESPECIALLY in the hotter weather (all 2 weeks of it...) as said adds extra lubrication and avoids water spots when water evaporates.

Get with the program Ali ;) joke

Nah filtered water is the champion in hotter weather no drying rules!

To minimise further the chances of any marring by leaving a slick watery finish.

Ha yeah no I want to...its the only thing I really need now, probably better than me buying loads more products I never use. You use which one again Richard Richard?

Ah yes...well, if Santa is nice might have to bite the bullet, although got my Autobrite Foam Lance to buy first. Plus I spunked about £60 at CYC on things I didn't really need this week :( And only have a couple of cars lined up over Christmas so far due to revision....ah well!

Pahh! My new dryin towel is better than anything i've used! Even in -1 it was dry in about5mins! Car was then air dried with the compressor...Mehhh!

Tried using detailer on the old man's car after, didn't notice any difference.

Yeah thats the one I have, its great, just make sure to wash it quite often - the CG Microfibre Wash works really well on it to keep it super soft.

He GAVE it to you though....no fair!!!

I use the Sonus Der Wunder Drying towel. Its not the softest towel (not like a microfibre) which makes me think I'm scratching my car every time I dry it :(

May be I'm turning into a cleanaholic...

Anyone fancy a clean off lol ;)?

Yeh its brilliant, only trouble is thats its SOOOO big that you have to be careful not to let any of the towel drag on the floor when your "going down" so to speak...;)

I find doubling it over and literally just laying it over a panel like the roof and bonnet takes most the water up, spray the panel with some QD then wipe up the remaining.

When you ring the towel out literally litres of water come out, its crazy!

Was going to say just that! i touched the ground and squealed like a little girl! - Happens alot tbh...

I have to ring it out in sections it's about as big as the gym towels i get from cameron house FFS! And a dman sight softer!

I'm going to give this detailing dryin doda another shot...Still not convinced!

Never actually rub during drying, lay the towel on the panel and blot the water off.

Honestly its a good shout, pleased I have the big bottle of Megs LAst Touch as was getting through way too much before!

Especially handy in the summer - although do you get one in Scotland? I heard the laws of physics were inverted there too? ;)

I have a bottle of Last Touch cut 50/50 with water for drying duties makes it go further.

Same, I thought you were meant to dilute it anyway? :S Well I have been lol - still works a charm. Filtered water though of course! Courtesy of Mr Brita...

I think they say to dilute for claying. I have one bottle cut for that and drying, and one full strength for actual QD'ing during polishing.

Ah fair play, will try some neat. TBH though the bottle I am using now has a mixture of neat CG Synthetic Detailer and their other one which name escapes me right now mixed in too. I like!

Edit: just did a search and can't find it so guess I couldn't of done! Will post them up when I can especially for you my sweet!

So when using a Detailing spray do you blot or wipe with the towel?
