Did a little bit of colour coding on the cup today

So this is how the car looked when I bought it and I just couldn't get over the washer blanks being black.

So a little bit of spray painting was in order. Luckily i went to a Renault dealer and purchased a set of specialist headlight washer blanks suspension devices ;)

Heres the result. Did have a massive pain in the ass when i managed to shear one of the plastic screw in parts in half! I wasn't even doing it up tight but oh well.

It does have a slight orange peel effect but that is the finish straight from spraying lacquer in so a bit of rubbing compound will probably bring out a a smoother more polished finished but not sure if I will bother as anything more than a foot away and it looks perfect.

I'm really happy with how it looks. Splitter will be getting the same treatment next weekend.

WHAT!? :nono:

Looks okay, as you say it's not perfect. They'll get stonechipped anyway so can spend more time on them next time. You've got to rub them no end after each stage.

You really think it will look that bad? I spotted this pic and thought it looked quite good. Makes the front bumper look bigger and lower coz the black spoiler is almost invisible from a distance

Pic change anyones mind or you still think it looks crap?

PLEASE DO NOT DO THE SPLITTER!

I understand why you did the washer blanks though, I think that does look better. The splitter would look awful though, as it does in the picture.

I agree with the Boosh, the splitter looks best as it is. Washer blanks are a nice little touch, like them.

I'm surprised you all think it looks that bad! I suppose I could always do it so I can see it in the flesh and if I dont like it just spray it black again. Can't decide what to do now!

So since we're on topic of what looks gash or not. Was thinking of painting my calipers, they do need doing as they are looking a bit rough.

For a little while I was going to do them red but then I realised I would look like a tool! So thinking of a dark grey/silver to try and match the anthracite wheels? I don't want to paint them black as I dont want them to be invisible.

Good improvement with CC'd blanks.

Don't like the look of the CC'd splitter though.

Infact, buy a lagune splitter to colour code and i'll buy your cup splitter off you for the cast of paint, time and the laguna splitter... deal!?

Seen a few people do this and I think it looks crap. If it was flush then it may look alot better. As it is it just looks odd imo.

I never actually considered the stone chips issue. Since it seems to be universally agreed as looking crap I think I've changed my mind.
