Diff Gone?

ive recently bought a 172 cup, MY 2002
just spent the weekend driving the car hard on the Nurburgring (lots of fun!)
the car made it back fine but yesterday their we're some strange noises and clunks and jolts coming from the drive train, mostly when turning. Full throttle in a straight line there's no issues at all.
I suspected cv joint but on jacking both wheels up and rotating a wheel it jumps and jolts and clunks and sticks! Looks to me like the diff has gone .... Any other options?

What does it sound like when you come off the throttle? When my diff went, all was fine on throttle, but when you came off it sounded like someone was shaking a very very loud baby's rattle.

Sound alright off throttle, the odd jolt or two!

Lots of metal in the drained gerabox oil, see pic below .... second hand box fitted this weekend and seems good
