Difference between FF and Cup on the track

  BMW
I am looking to buy a 172 and need some help from you guys especially anyone that has driven both on the track. I have done a lot of research on this forum and can see that there are quite a few differences between the 2 variants - 80 odd kgs is a big difference.

I want to know how different the FF and Cup are on the track.

The car will also be occasionally used for communting by the Mrs hence the consideration of the FF for the creature comforts. This has only been brought on because of the hot weather recently.

I will be modding the suspension (coilovers) anyway regardless of which one I go for. Just having trouble making my mind up!

I owned the Cup (road and track), drove a 172 (road), passenger a 182 (road and track), driven 182 (road and track), and in all honesty I'd take the comfy interior and air con of a FF 172 and get coilovers. :)

Thats exactly the kind of answer I was looking for. FF with coilovers looks to be a sensible choice. Cheers DC.

The wife will be happy she can have air con and not have to take my car as it likes drinking optimax in excess.

There not much difference a good 172 vs a bad Cup and the full fat would be quicke.r
It should be quicker but who car realy use a car to its fullest anyway.

No probs mate. I was trying to see it from your view and your wifes. In your view, I'd go Cup (well I did for over 2 years), but then, she's going to enjoy the decent seats and air con and that.

The best option therefore is FF 172 and some choice modifications and it'll be just as much fun with comforts.

:)

PMSL @ Mark. I bought a trailer tonight ;) Hehe.
