does anyone know what the difference between an ph1 rsi and a ph1 1.6 16v are?
i.e. suspension/running gear/brakes
i know the seats a slightly different and i think rsi has aircon as standard.

Parkers website would be worth a look. They show what's standard and an option.

parkers just talks about the internal options, it also hints to better suspension in the rsi. nothing is clear

they both have the same 1.6 16v engine can't remember the engine code but i think its k4m

im not to bothered about the internal differences between the two im more interested in the driving experience between the two

RSi had 1/2 leather, air con, electric sunroof/mirrors. Basically it was just a trim option.

Mk1 Rsi was a 1.8, 8v motor, body same as the rest of the range (excluding 16v and williams) Not sure about the suspension and brakes.
Mk2 Rsi was a 1.6, 16v motor, body same as the rest of the range apart from the 172 and V6. It had half leather with leather trimmed steering wheel, 6 spoke alloys, ABS. Apparently had slightly lower suspension and slightly stiffer front anti roll bar. Mine has air con and a sunroof, so I assume one of these comes as standard.
Regarding the Drive, I can only comment on the mk2, But after a mk1 1.2, it felt pretty quick with impressive brakes. Quite quick too. Not too cheap to insure though, I got a quote before buying mine, then once I got it and finalised the policy, the price went up!! Apparently the Rsi is a higher insurance group than other mk2 ph1 1.6 clios (8v or 16v)

thanks for all the info.
i think i will go for the standard 1.6 16v then, all the cars ive looked at the rsi has a high premium over the 1.6 16v. i'll lower the car myself. and im not that perticullaly bothered about half leather either. i can live without aircon but most ive seen have it already
