Ding buzzer when you start a 197

When you push the start button on a 197, you get a nice posh American luxury car sounding ding buzzer when it starts ...... why does my ding noise cut out straight away sometimes?? I thought it might be a seatbelt warning buzzer, but it sometimes only makes half the noise regardless of whether the belt is on or not? Also i thought it might be down to how quickly i press the push start, but it doesnt seem to be that either?

Any ideas? Am i missing something obvious?

mine sometimes makes the dinging noise when i first get into the car? i have no idea what it is??

first i have heard of a buzzer/ding noise - mine doesnt do it :S

it goes "DING" when i press the push start and all the dash light illuminate, then it starts. But sometimes the ding cuts striaght out. Its so annoying, i want a new 197 now!!! Mines duff.
