Disconnecting Battery is it safe?

When you read a guide and it says Disconnect the battery doesn't that affect the ECU and make it shut down and lock? What would you disconnect the positive or negative or both? I'm rather dubious about take the battery leads off just encase it does play with the electrics

Just disconnect off the -ive terminal.

Nothing should go wrong, usually worst case scenario is you dont have your radio code so have to pay renault to recover it.

Oh my.

As said, just undo the neg terminal. Do NOT, 4TLOG, short the two terminals out .. sparks will fly !! Amazing how quickly a bit of electrically inspired heat will weld a spanner to the battery.

What are you planning to do anyway ?!

Its not that quick, I shorted my +ive terminal to the body (which was still connected to -ive) back in my subwoofer y0 days and it sparked a good few seconds but didn't melt anything!
