Dish or no Dish? And which Boss?

What do people go with for aftermarket steering wheels? Dished or flat? I am tall so have the seat all the way back to fit my legs under so my arms are fully straight to reach the top of the wheel. A dish would reduce this, but I am also rather large, so don't want the wheel to be to close making it a PITA to get in and out?

And what is the correct boss for a Phase2 172? I've seen talk of differences between phase 1's and phase 2's (to do with indicators?) but looking online I can only find single ones that cover the whole Mk2 period (98-05)?

If you've got cruise control make sure you get a Momo Boss.

As for dish, I only have a flat sabelt RS wheel, so can't really comment I'm afraid!

Dished wheels are great, i want one but no were does 300mm dished, im going to look into getting a flat 300mm modified

So the Momo boss fits all Mk2's without issue? Cool.

Does a flat wheel on a Momo boss stick out as far as the standard wheel?

About the same if not a little further i think mate. Been so long since my standard wheel was on

And yes, momo boss is the only one toget to be aure of no problems, any make wheel will fit as they are all the same size, 6 screws.

OMP will also fit if you don't have cruise control. Cheaper too.
Only reason to get a Momo is if you have cruise control, to fit the connector block through the hole, which is bigger on the momo boss.

im 6'3 and have a momo wheel and boss on mine, its about the same as a standard wheel, maybe sat a fraction further towards you, but nothing to worry about, however a dished wheel would sit far too close for me.

Yeah I'm thinking a dish would be too close. However, its easily changeable. Think I will head for a flat one to start with and go from there.

Anyone stuck a Clio without an airbag through and MOT since Jan 1st?

I have a dished OMP Corsica with OMP boss in my Williams, I love it. It gives better steering wheel position (compared to the awfull OE) , somehow I feel nicer the location of the steering wheel rim in corners. Perhaps I would found it too close if my car was used a daily but for a weekend car, it's superb.
