Dismantle front end to change a bulb ?!

Had my 197 for 3 weeks and had a xenon bulb go yesterday , near side one ,.

had a look today and the room is erm none under the bonnet. I have searched on here and seen a few threads saying remove inner wings and bumper !!!!! Really ???

Is there a hatch in your archliner you can slide your hand through?

It is doable from the top, small hands are needed

Or take the front end off

Best to replace xenons bulbs in pairs due to colouration differences

Pair it is ,, what are the standard bulbs ? I've seen a few with diff colours and watts :-/

this always makes me laugh, in France it's illegal to drive without a complete spare set of bulbs in the car.
yet Renault, a French manufacturer, make it impossible to change the bulbs without removing the front end.
(its the same on meganes and lagunas also)

is it me, or is this a massive design flaw?

Honda Civics you need to take the coolant reservoir off the car and the washer bottle to get the OS headlight, that'd be a right b**ch to do at roadside, you'd need a bucket and spare coolant to do it properly.

Standard on the 182 are 4300k and I believe it should be the same. Not sure if the below is the right size for a 197

It is possible to change the bulbs without taking the bumpers off...i have done it plenty of times.

It just takes a lot of patients and swearing!

Naa, in the garage
