Dismantling Door Handles

I have bought a Spare Set of Door Handles (Cheers Haz511) with the Intentions of Colour Coding them for my GF but I was wondering if there is anyway of taking them apart so i can do a more thorough job of painting them,

no need. Just pull them open and wedge a small piece of wood in them top keep them opened when spraying.

i tried this but in the end i just unhoooked the spring so that the handles stayed when i wanted them to! worked fine for me mate!
