Dispare with my 172 cup!!!

My car went to a garage today and they have told me my gearbox and clutch are out! Anybody got anyway of getting everything sorted as cheap as possible!! Love my 172 Cup but in a year and a half of clio ownership these last 3 months have been such trouble with the car! I will have spent £1500 in 3 months soon on car maintenance! It's going soon if I can't rekindle my passion for my baby...

So your Gearbox has failed and you need a new clutch? Or you just need a new Clutch?

Gearbox has pretty much gone, metal fragments in the oil. It was making a nasty noise so had it put in the garage for them to check out. I knew something bad was happenig, but was praying it was driveshaft but not my luck!! The clutch is on it's legs they said so may as well be replaced whilst the other job is being done

I'm in Milton keynes, I have just bought a clio gearbox for £300 including postage from a 172 cup in breaking. Just trying to work out what to do at the moment. Don't you just love clios... puts a massive grin on my face and kicks me in the balls if it gets the chance!!

Does anybody by any chance have a manual for changing a clio cup gear box?

There's a guide in the guide section for removing the gearbox. Think it was BenP that wrote it.

Couldn't the original gearbox be rebuilt? It's just how do you know the one you have bought isn't 10k off packing in?

My clutch failed and when it was removed there was some metal in the oil so I had it rebuilt, it wasn't "that" expensive.
