DIY Wheel Refurb Info Please.

  SchwepTek™
Justin-172 and myself are soon to be refurbing our wheels in anthracite.

We have the paint code for the colour but does anyone know how much we will need? We were thinking 4 x 500ml spray cans per set of wheels?

Also, do we need any particular primer and laquer and how much of this will we need?

Thanks

Schweppy

if youre spraying inside the wheels too, id say about 1 can of colour per wheel, might use a bit less than a can.

same with laquer, about a can a wheel maybe less.

primer, you should be able to do all 4 wheels with 1 can, 2 if you really wanna buy 2, but you;ll only need to primer the face of the wheel tbh. cellulose primer is fine

I used x1 400ml can of base coat for two wheels. X1 can of 400ml of laquer. Little tip, if you are painting the inside of the wheel, do this first!!!!! I didn't on the first one lol. Wish i had. This then means you can concentrate on the front finish more. Also, you would be better with some kind of heat, ie gas heater in the shed etc. I've still yet to fit mine. Been in my house two weeks to make sure they are properly cured. You certainly wont do them all in a day lol. I just need to give them a quick cut with some rubbing compound (using some Menzerner Power Gloss) to smooth the feel and finish. Then a Wax and seal. I'll get some pics up this weekend. :)

Good luck, and take your time ;)
