Very nice, really liking the 197's now. What country are you from ?? As I notice an A on the reg plate.

thanks!
thats the little spoiler of ELIA. I think it´s not too extreme, that´s what I like.
Yes, it´s lowered by using H&R springs and I used H&R spacers: front 30mm/axle, rear 50mm/axle.

Hopefully the 19 inch rims will arrive soon :)

I´m from Austria!

yes 19´s,... has always to be at least 2 inches difference to the stock rims :D

here´s a pic of 19´s...in my opinion not soo extreme :)

lol...Guess thats a matter of opinion really...197 is a great handling wee car! it's about to feel like a ferry!

very nice.but i would say that it looks like mines twin:approve:
30mm front and 50mm rear spacers thats alot.i went for 25mm H&R's all round but they look about same?
thats the spoiler that renault dealers sell for £107 inc vat.
(the same one that ktec sell for £145 ??:S )
next on my list.
jase...

That pic is only as an example for 19´s ;)

I ordered 19´s in USA, black centre, polished bed.

The reason for this is, that the 197 looks veeeery good.
In comparison to the 172 (before the 197 i had a 172 emotion) it´s a bit slower, even if it has a better chassis, the main feature for me is the appearence and I think it´ll look divine with the 19´s. :hail::hail::hail::hail:

Concerning the springs:
If it looks like a tractor, ... there´s no way to avoid buying a chassis with adjustable suspension :rolleyes:

Therefore the simple remedy is don't put big wheels on a small car!

Best example I've seen.

19's is of course a matter of taste. I would say an inch upgrade is usually in order, but not always the case on hot hatches.

18" trophy look fantastic, but they are too ordinary :)

@ali
you do not understand my idea.
extravagance demands work.
and the remedy is such a chassis :D

@dje
We'll have this discussion when you get them fiited ;)
Car looks awsum just now!! Thumbs up for that!

ok, I am also waiting to see the result.

btw. some german guys consider to assemble 20´s on the 197 :D

why are spacers needed ? i.e if they were meant to be better for handling wouldnt the 197 already be spaced at optimum level ?

19" ohh god :( you will ruin it.

18`s perfect (for looks) and lowered slightly.

personally cant wait for someone to drop 80-100mm on 8" wide 15`s :D

spacers are for the appearance,..
I think the only thing renault considers is handling,... theres so much space between the tyre and the wheelhouse that you can place another wheel there :)
the same with the 19´s...

i don´t mind, that those things decrease performance.

If i want to have a fast car, I´ll buy a clio 2 trophy!

15´s could be a problem -> brakes ;)

^
with regard to the brakes, I had a Fiat coupe 20vt plus:) - which had Brembo's on it - as per the 197, tbh the Brembo's fitted to the 197 look a lot narrower than those on my ex coupe (the focus RS seemed to run the seme calipers as the coupe)
I do know about clearance issues though, as clearing the calipers was a mission, even the standrad alloys were really colse.

its not really the size of the callipers that creates the problem but the size of the discs. the 197 has 312mm front discs so a smaller wheel would not fit.the thickness of the callipers more dictates the shape of the back of the whel spokes to get the clearance needed.

dont u think that the 197 is a mix of megane and clio cause look like both in some ways or is it just me lol
