Weeman sucks ****
Is it worth lowering my cup. I wouldnt do it for looks but purely for road holding. Also, would it cause rubbing?

Only if you get your kicks from that sort of thing!![]()
Renault did not lower the CUP, castor (giving the CUP that better steering feel everybody talks about) changes resulted in the front being 3mm lower.........so they just advertised it as being lower......it was a by product.Quote: Originally posted by edde on 09 September 2003
Renault did lower the 172 cups from what the 172 was (3mm I belive). However I guess Renault decided it was best to keep a reasonable ride height for the cup to stop damage to the car whilst driving over speedbumps.
Lowering the Cup should increase the handling due to the better C of G however ride quality will be worse and more care will hjave to be taken on larger speedbumps.
I cannot see it rubbing people on the forum have lowered there 1.2 by quite a lot even on 16 and even though the Dynamics are 27mm higher a 60mm drop seems to be ok.

So that means that 172 suspensions mods ie springs would fit a Cup no problems?. I reciently saw a Cup suspensions springs set for sale trying to say that theyre fitted the Cup only so I take it there were talking rubish then?Quote: Originally posted by BenR on 10 September 2003
