Do I or Don’t I

  182 Trophy

Can pick up a brand new 182 cup in inferno on saturday.

Just cant make my mind up due Renault problems, dints, knocking, paintwork etc.

I had my corsa SXI from new for 2 years now and not had one single problem.

Will I regret buying a 182?

After 30 minutes in the 182 youll never look back.

Dont worry that youve never had problems with your Corsa, you have a warranty on the Clio.

The colour is not particulary by choice. I saw the car in the dealer yesterday in the showrrom ready to go out, but who ever had ordered it had cancelled and the dealer wants to get shut. ive basically said im going to have it and will confirm tomorrow, the colour is my other concern, i dont want people looking at me because it stands out, im 32 now and would prefer to blend in.

Dont worry about the colour. It isnt everyones cup of tea but you could say that about most colours.

I like it a lot. My VTS is gold and stands out. People often comment and say they like the colour. Being second hand I had no real choice and wasnt sure at first but I like it a lot now.

Live for today. Just think about increased insurance, servicing, tyres, brakes, road tax and petrol. All these will cost you more with a 182.

£11300, i had a quote of £11000 for racing blue from another dealer, its a cup by the way.

got £4700 for 03 reg corsa 13000miles, thats apparently above trade.

Dealers chucking in tank of fuel, mats, letting me take the tax off my car to cash in, plus havent got to bother servicing my car which had to be done this week to keep up with the warranty.

Hmmm ... not sure that this colour really blends in! To be honest, unless you are getting an incredible deal, I would go for a different colour to blend in ... black for example.

I am also in that age group and decided that black was the way to go since it adds to the "sleeper" qualities of the car, and doesnt tend to attract the wrong attention.

32 !!! dont worry about it I am 37 and pick up a 182 inferno on Friday , you got a better deal than me aswell. as for the colour , if its too bright for you wear sunglasses , if its too bright for everyone else , tough sh*t .

If your concerned about a colour standing out, then inferno will certainly do just that!

I personally like the colour but make sure your convinced before you set off out the dealer in it............

Just spoken to my brother in laws mate whos got a 182 cup and he said he hasnt had a problem until 8000 miles from a blowing exhaust, although it has been thrashed and been on a couple of track days. im going to buy it and get it on saturday, after being told how fantastic it is, hes older than me with the stipes as well.

Dont mean to put a downer on things but if you dont like the color then dont get it, i bet you could get the same deal or maybe a better one if you go into another dealer and tell them that youve been given that price for one and could they better it, they hate turning custom down, then you can get it in what ever color you wanted, only problem then is youd have to wait for the new car to come.
Im sure youll love the car though, ive seen a few about my end expecting to see young people driving them but they are usually people in there 30s, probably something to go with the insurance!

Between my family and other half, weve had eight Clios of all sorts since 1995 - and never had a major problem.

Just try owning an Italian car with a turbo, hideous repair costs and no warranty...youll soon get some perspective on the weeny niggles you may get the impression are a problem for Clio owners! All car forums are full of people with niggles and faults (apart from the Volvo ones lol!).

My girlfriend really likes the colour and she will use it as much as me. As i am going for the cup as i dont like the leather the colour choice is a bit limited. I dont think i could get a deal much better than the one i have got, other dealers have been offering me around £4300 for my p/ex and i cant see me getting a lower price than £11300 on a new cup.

Its noisy, the exhaust blows in three places (welds on middle box and downpipe to cat), the windscreen cracked when I bounced through a dip in the road, alarm doesnt always arm, various dash lights come on when they feel like it and renault are about as much use as a showercap to a duck.

But what the hell, laugh a minute, fast as any sane person would want to go on 95% of roads and certainly fast enough to loose your licence in less than a week, other cars just always seem to be in the way.

Buy one and enjoy..... its not perfect but its cheap
