Do you think trophy will become dirt cheap

  Tangoed Works
Following on from another thread stating that trophy shocks are 1200+vat each or something. do you think once they are out of warranty, not many people are going to touch them with a barge pole?

I mean for the difference in handling, the 182 standard shockers are mahoosively cheaper, even a full set of H&R coillies are way cheaper!

  5 GTT & Orb'd Trophy
Thats just what i was about to say, they are a servicable part. I believe Donkey has an agreement with Sachs. So in answer to your question, No.

Nobody has had them done yet as far as i know, but i expect it will entirely dependant on the work carried out on each damper. one that was damaged was done for a lot less than would imagine.

  ph quick
Im pretty sure somewhere like stendec could do it, they can service pretty much any shock and most of what they do is far more advanced than the sachs damper

  FN2 Type R +MK6 Golf
I dont think there will be a premium in years to come. The whole brand has become way to diluted

  RenaultSport 172.
the mk2s will in their older age end up like the mk1's IMO.

mk1 1.2/1.4 = mk2 1.2/1.4/1.6

mk1 1.8 8v RSI = Mk2 172

Mk1 1.8 16v = Mk2 182

Mk1 Williams1/2/3 = Trophy

thats my opinion anyway....

Who cares, a platinum warranty with £2500 per item limit is only £200 for a year.
Some trophy's are over 50k now & no problems what so ever, so ones like mine just over 10K have got a long way to go;)

Why is it always them who don't own a trophy have to pull them down, maybe jealousy???

What a bargain they are, i've had mine 2 years & can still get most of my cash back. If i wanted to sell.

not sure why other 1*2 owners would be jealous tbh but thats just me, i chose the racing blue as i prefer the look and didnt like the capsicum red and i wanted xenons etc.

either way though all the rs range are awesome motors with what has to be the most most fun factor per £ going

NOt jealous at all mate. Got offered one breand new for 12k when I was about to buy my 182. TBH I wanted the c/c and xenons etc. A second round renaults test track would have meant fcuk all in the kind of driving that I do, ie urban roadage with the odd motorway blast.

It was just me thinking out loud.. though I did wonder how long it would be until someone thought I was having a pop. LOL, dont be so insecure matey, its just a red 182 with different shockers at the end of the day!

i reckon the trophy will stay more expensive kind of like the golf anniversary versus golf gti.

if i had a trophy id keep it low miles as possible and mint as possible.
