Dodo juice soft vs hard waxes

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
Whats the difference? Is it the length of time for durability? if so I wouldn't of thought the soft waxes would sell that well.

I'm looking at getting a tester pot of orange crush or bananna armour to se if it's worth the extra ££ for my LY 182

Bananna armour will look fantastic on the LY mate, I just picked up soem Purple Haze, looking forward to giving it a blast, very much a summer wax imo.

Not directly answering your question here, but the couple I got my LY from used the Banana Armour on it. The beading is awesome, and when you rinse down after washing the water sheets lovely and makes drying stupidly easy. I have like half of the sample pot left from there and the whole car's been waxed lol!

I'm currently using the AG HD wax that beads lovely and is really easy to use, unsure on durability though. just thought these might be worth a look.

So no real difference with the soft and hard wax ranges then?

i got both BA and PH

BA is alot harder to get on a pad, so i think it will be easier to make a layer of it

PH is so easy to apply to a pad so you tend to apply it thinker

put some BA on a black 172 the weekend, looked sweet but PH looks the nuts too

Durability of the AG will well outlast Dodo imo, dodo is definitely a summer wax.

It'll look better than AG HD tho.

On a side note.. what's the easiest way to use the BA? I want to add some more layers but I find hard waxes quite tough to use at times.

Pop in hot water before use, easier to spread thin.

Lightly moisten the applicator pad and it'll make it so much easier.

I can't think of any other way to apply other than your hands and that's proffesionals only imo.

Just luke warm water mate with the lid on, just for a minute, to soften slightly! Not melt!

Similar to softening clay.

I feel like a n00b now, even though I consider myself quite a keen detailer. (Definitely an enthusiast though, far from a pro haha).

Is it best to damp the foam pad slightly then push that into the pot and get the wax on that way, or use your hands to get a bit of wax on to the pad and then spread over the car?

(Sorry for slightly hijacking this thread lol).

You should lightly mist the applicator, even soft water or QD then just swipe some wax with the applicator then onto the panlel! Easy!

Cool. I'll have a play at the weekend I think. I've got some Prima Banana Gloss liquid wax too which I'm hoping will give a nice shine and add a bit more protection on top.

Only put the same wax over in layers mate, leave 24 hours and put more Dodo on, not that other stuff.

Liquid wax ends up going on thick most of the time aswell.

I found that the dodo soft waxes give a glossier finish to hard waxes, but, a hard wax will last you so much longer for the same price i can live with a little less gloss.

Applying by hand isnt just for pros, it really warms the wax up making it spread further and more evenly plus you can feel where you have and havent waxed. Gotta admit though you look a tit when doing it and people walk past.

They are imo a summer wax as i've always thought!

More show than performance! I would buy more PH but i'd rather durability.

Fancy a bit of wet sanding when i'm down?!

Armourfend to protect the wide body from stonechips mate! :)

Kev wrote armourfend. I wrote 'Fended.

Like 'Nam instead of Vietnam. And 'Stan rather than Afghanistan. And 'Ger rather than Tigger.

'tc (etc).
