hey new member from essex, currently driving a jdm dc2 1999. Its a great motor but Im thinking about selling it and getting something a little newer with similar pace and noticed around 2004 182's going for properly cheap these days, so I joined up to find potential problems with them, and obviously, tuning capabilitys

Make sure cam belt aux belt and de phaser pulley have been changed. Back boxes rot from the inside out.

Tuning wise it costs a lot to get much out of these engines, throttle bodies, turbos and supercharger coversions are all available.

I do like the DC2's but would still prefer my clio as a daily driver. Reguarly serviced and there generally pretty healthy and strong. steering wheel doesn't age that well but interior is generally ok. hitting 200bhp is difficult and expensive is you want to keep it NA, TB's gets close.
