Does my Clio have a torsion bar??

  Renault Clio Mark 1
Hey guys,
As title says is there any way to tell or does anyone know whether my Mark 1 Clio has a torsion bar at the rear? Interested in finding out because then I won't need to buy a pair of lowering springs for the back- I can just use a spanner.... Correct??

Much Appreciated,
Dan

cant just use a spanner but yes it is on a torsion bar.
did the rear on a 106 and thinks the basis of changing the ride height is the same.
the off set spacers in the holes can be an arse though and i thinks they are star sockets........were on the 106 anyway.

how much does it cost to get it done by a garage?

Not fully up on clio suspension, doesnt seem to hard to do tho according to that guide, can you buy a tool to do the job?

Also how do you measure how low the torson bar is going?

looks a hell of a lot easier than doing a 106/saxo one

they are a right pig. torsion bars sieze into place after about a month.
