Does the AC turn off on full throttle?

Last thursday i was at Llandow and as it was quite wet so I was using the AC to keep the windows clear, I had it set to 19 which usually keeps it fairly cold but i found that i was getting really hot. I know BMW's turn the AC at full throttle and i was wondering if my clio does the same?

I can see the sense but tbh the power needed to turn the AC pump out of the 170 being made at the crank the performance difference would be negligible if you could even notice it. I know this doesn't answer your question but I wouldn't have thought it would shut off automatically.

Yeah the windows were staying clear but that could be because the AC was working under braking and around the slower corners.

Renault manual says that the compressor is switched off above 6000rpm.

BTW: The AC compressor can take up to 10hp from the crank.
