I just got myself another 172 and it had a pipercross IK. with a CF bonnet on top of it. I can feel the power loss badly on a hot day. notice the black cf bonnet is 2x as hot as my silver roof so i was looking for something to replace that pipercross on ebay and i found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8064373388&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1

on it's web some customer said +18hp gain on a civic!!:evil:
it's just 2 good 2 be true, wot u guys think?
an ITG MAXOGEN would be better? but is it worth that 400 quids?

The carbon fibre bonnet will not absorb heat, your open cone pipe cross air filter is sucking in hot air from the engine bay. on a hot daay i measured the ambient air temp in the engine bay at 65c after 20 mins warm up. i would try your old airbox with an ITG air filter first ( you can buy these from BRUN) failing that opt for a piper cross viper or ITG maxogen if you have the cash

Hiya

To be honest, the electric supercharger your looking at is more likely to contain a boat cooling fan than a powerful electric turbine as ther is alot of scams when it comes to this sort of thing. If you want a proper electric supercharger, get one imported from the states by Eram as they used a patented motor which no other company can come close. Had the smallest one they did fitted to my A3 and it was so powerful, it used to burn out 60amp fueses If I had it at full throttle for to long. Did feel faster and Sounded the bollox when activated as well.

Well I got the one pictured above for £220 + £35 tax, but that was cheap when the pound was really strong againt the dollor. To get one, just go onto the Eram web site and send them an email. They should either be able to send you one direct (cheaper option) or give you a place in the UK where you can purchase one, but I think in the UK, it was £350. I think it claimed it would give 15BHP when activated at full throttle, but I only noticed a slight difference, but was deffinately faster and sounded alot better.
