Doh Schoolboy error

so my car used to get 150 miles to £20 (which i was told is very bad) with the shitty halfords air filter on (been on since i passed my test) then after my exhaust was put on i took the air filter off because all it did was make abit of noise

now my car has been getting really bad mpg like less than 100 miles to £20

turns out i had the inlet and outlet pipes on the wrong way on the air filter

just changed it back and now hopefully the mpg will improve
