If this was ac then I would most probably be dead.

tbh doing it with soaking wet clothes might recreate the faraday cage effect and the path of least resistance would be the water. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You would think so, but he shock you received was from a DC system, therefore the only frequency you had (in theory) was relevant to the cars rpm and firing sequence.

WHY ?

DC is worse than AC as with DC its harder to stop being electricuted at least in an AC wave form there is a point at which the voltage is 0V and its easier to let go.

You need to go and study your trade again by the looks of things.
