drilled a hole - how do I stop it rusting

Hi

I've drilled some holes in the clio to attach some things. I'm not planning on painting the area but I'm worried the sides of the hole will start to rust and then spread out from there.

I there a common way to stop this - I seem to recall zinc paint?

Thanks

Zinc primer is good as it acts sacrificially to stop the oxygen attaching to the iron in the steel.

Or a hammerite or similar paint that can be eaily brush painted on is a good option too, basically you just need to make sure that no air (and definatly no water) can get to the actual metal.

Waxoyl is another good option and can be quite easily removed later on if you require.
