Is there any easy way to tell if a driveshaft is worn down or damaged ???

Or would i have to take it to a garage and get them to strip everything down and remove it to tell ?

Noise or play in the joints, other than that there isn't much to go wrong with one.

Clicking/knocking on full lock is common.

check for split gaitors hence a dry cv joint. renault shafts sometimes when the cv joint has gone make a buzz/humm noise as you slow down on over run. its a very strange noise to explain but had a lot of clio shafts do it. As above as well - knocking/rattling on lock is also a sign.

The CV boot was replaced about 2 months ago after it burst but i did drive around for a day or two without it repaird :/ but the sound only really happend about a month ago and ive been living with it but now its getting on my tits....im putting it down to the shaft so whats the going price for it to be sorted if anyone knows ?
