I have exactly the same vid cam, didnt need any drivers for it though, just plugged it into the 1394 port on my laptop and windows movie maker found it.
doesnt come with a disc out the box iirc, thought xp would find the drivers for plug & play.
Reading between the lines, it looks like deleting the the current USB connection within Control Panel --> System and then reconnecting the USB lead, might just work? Assuming you don't delete the driver itself....
