driver's door "clunk" every time it opens

I have Clio 172 MK2 2003.

The problem: Every time I open the driver's door for max it make a "clunk" noise like some stopper is stuck there.
What can it be ?
Before I'll remove the door card to see wanted to know a solution for this annoying problem.

Try a squirt of wd40 first.

I had this on my old dyanmique, turned out to be the star screw thingy on the hinge had come loose, tightened that up and it was good again

its your check strap, put some multi purpose grease all over it and open and close the door a few times. Either that or check the screw is still holding it tight onto the A post.

Checked the screw and it ok. The sound come from inside the door card. At the garage told me that this is a door stopper problem, but I didn't have a time to fix it there.
