Driveshaft popped out whilst lowering...

  Breaking A 172 Replica
Hello,

I have tried to lower the car this morning and I have been working on the NSF shock. I think the driveshaft may have popped out as I let it drop before I remembered to jack it up.

Is there anyway I can tell before putting everything back together again?

How do I put it back in if it has popped out?

Help needed ASAP if possible...

Cheers

Sam

mine did the same,
its pretty common, just pop it all back i, make sure its not twisted, fill the gear box oil back up too as my guess its just emptied it all over the floor lol

There doesn't seem to be any oil on the floor.

Does this mean it hasn't popped out :s

I am confused

Thanks for your quick response btw Taylor!

ns/passenger side drive shaft is sealed to gearbox unless you undo 3 13mm bolts, so u shouldnt of lost oil. there are 3 bearings on the end of the drive shaft that fit into the gearbox, you should be able to gently twist the driveshaft until it fits back into the 3 slots, u will know when its back in but dont force it

Not to worry.

All is sorted now and the springs are fitted.

The car drives as it use to so I guess these means all is well?

Thanks

i'm on about the same driveshaft, gaitor is held on by bearing at the narrow end with a clip (the other end of the gaitor has the plate with the 3 bolts)

the gaitor can slip off this bearing and dump the oil
