Driveshaft

Car  fiesta 1.25
I have a knocking noise coming from the front right side of my car every time i brake or accelerate ive been told this could be the driveshaft so ive taken it out,Now what? How do i check if its faulty or whatever?

i have this same problem, can you feel it clunk in the footwell??

mines been to 2 garrages and no one can work out what it is

ideally get someone to stand at the side of your car and with your bonnet up, and handbrake on hard, select 1st gear and about 2krpm, and try and pull away, get them to report any engine movement...

Yeh it feels like something more low down than engine mounts though.Does it more when "i" brake even at low speeds.

Mike

exactly the same as mine

i thought it was the bottom ball joint but its not,
does it do it more at low speeds, and when you let off n stuff at low speeds

Yup! My balljoint has been replaced a few months ago so i doubt its that. i have my car in pieces atm with the hub off and the driveshaft out so i could really do with some help soon lol

well let ke know waht it is if you find out haha least i know im not the only one

mines going in on sat so hopefully ill be able to tell then what i think it is

you could just lift the bonnet up,grab hold of the engine and rag it about you can normally guess wether its to lose

ive just put mine back together and the noise has stopped!! so that eliminates engine mounts e.t.c. so its either the hub or the driveshaft as thats all i touched.

by the way its me that was having the problem chris just wrote it on his account
