How does the 996 annihilate the gallardo? 996 is heavier and has less power?

I think I'll trust my eyes more than your stats if that's ok.

Gallardo is a heavy beast, with a small powerband, 996 turbo has a lot of love to give.

To clarify, when I say annihilate. I mean just walks all over it at any speed. Sure the Gallardo might have the advantage at 180mph. But by then the Porsche is in the distance anyway.
