E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project

Re: E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project **SEATS FITTED (pics)**

I always found that the z4 looked a little underwhelming in silver, but that's baller spec mate! Looks top draw, really ties it all together.

Gold star!

Looking good Rob, no probs with the wiring I take it then?

Cheers mate, no none at all.

You have two choices when fitting facelift seats to a non facelift.. either fit an occupancy sensor bypass or fit a new occupancy sensor, but this means taking the seats apart.

I've gone for the bypass as it's about £100 cheaper, it makes the car think there's always someone in the seat so the airbags all work as normal :)

Tan leather is simply heroic. I really wish you'd have gotten those wooden dash inserts - would've been full gentleman spec with the seats!

Thanks chap, yeah I thought the same about the wood. (Damn you Alan ;) )

I have something up my sleeve with the dash, but I'm not sure... alcantara (black) with dark red stitching?

Yes. Ill give you that. Looks mint

Thanks you, bet you miss it more now huh? (ish)

Underwhelming? Tsk.

Thanks Chris :)

A whole new level with those.

Colour is a perfect contrast to the outside.

To make it perfect now, 108's need to go super shiny silver- they look dull compared to the bodywork.

Thanks chaps, you both really need to see them in the flesh.

Wheels and spacers are my next focus, be as the summer comes in a little though.

First I need to get it home and find this rear knock. FFSnake.

Knock? on the sus or drive train?

Not sure yet. Swing one way, it'll knock, then the other, it'll knock, only alternately (so two right swerves won't get two knocks), so I hope it's a bolt worked loose on the suspension when it went in for the bearing etc a while back.

Feel free to drive to Sidcup tonight and help me have a look, I'll even buy you a pint.

Looks awesome, much better than I expected if I'm honest.

How are you finding drop top life? I did 100 miles with the top down this weekend and it reminded me why I love it so much! Fitted some Bimarco as well :D

Those seats are nice.. Colour works well with silver. Get some Dr Leather on them to get rid of that shine.

Cheers Sam, if I'm honest it looks better than I was expecting, but that's purely because I thought they seats were tan, not some specialist unique BM colour. They're far more burgundy than anything else.

I love drop top life, like properly, I spent all of last summer with the top down, and now we're seeing the sun I love crisp air mixed with the heated seats. (The new seats have heated bolsters, bonus)

Please upload a picture of you in the BM, gansta lean and all.

Can we do a "Post a pic of you in your soft top" thread???

Thanks mate, it got detailed a week or two ago and the old seats got done, I'll have to convince Ant to do the new seats too

It's just bad lighting ginger, I promise. Whole side of the car was repainted so it's not just one panel, no way Jose.
"CAT B" Iirc :rasp:

I do like those seats Robert!

Does it mean that bloody annoying beep doesn't come on when you put too much on the passenger seat with the seatbelt not on?

It sure does, the alternative is to get yourself one of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SEAT-BELT...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ebe3f51d8

Just keep it in your cubby hole and bung it in whenever you want to have something on the passenger seat.

Looks awesome, gentleman racer FTW.

Loving the new fabrics

Thank you sirs.

Cheers mate, I think (luckily for me) silver is one of the best colours with it. Can't get over the heated bolsters, worked on a car last night until 1 a.m with Ant and when I went to go home, the heated bolsters were amazing on my freezing... everything.

Being from a facelift, these seem to have had considerably less use and be a better design in general, they seem to get hotter quicker and hotter overall.

Ooooo Rob have you done the CDV mod yet? All I can say is wow, how the car should have been made and not catering for people who cannot drive.

Re: E85 3.0 Z4 Roadster Project *Seat Pics #658*

Did it this morning as soon as I got back in the car, could feel it was much better when pulling off. And now in sport mode on a quick change there's no slipping. Just feels nice having the clutch controlled by your foot once again.

You know I'd have invited you.

Found it yes, ordered polybush replacement. RTAB's it was.

It's a git to get the old ones out though, new ones go in easy.
