Earth cable - what do I actually need?

Hi all,

I seem to be going down various rabbit holes of details regarding getting a replacement earth cable - the one that is situated behind the arch liner of the nearside front, attached to the gearbox. I cannot find a Renault OEM part number for one and have seen posts online that say 'Halfords do them' - but what am I actually asking for?

More so, I've seen some comments stating 'you need to get a good one' (?) which doesn't really help when electrics mean as much to me as quantum theory read aloud in Hungarian, backwards.

Has anyone recently just bought an off-the-shelf replacement and if so, could you provide any links for it please?

Many thanks,
D.

Silly question (again, apologies as electrics are not my thing) - is it worth adding some dielectric grease onto the connectors of a replacement earth cable. Or does it not work that way?
Shouldn’t do any harm.

Might also be beneficial to prevent galvanic corrosion between the earth strap and the body too.
