Earth Strap

I believe that there is an Earth Strap that goes from the gearbox to the chassis.
Is this correct and if so does anyone know the size of it and the wholes where the bolt would go through ?

The reason for wanting one is im changing my alternator and i have read that these straps can corrode and cause problems.

I have sene one on ebay from a seller that im thinking of getting but just very unsure on the size.
Can Anyone Help ?

I'd get one from a scrap yard fella. Used genuine parts can be better than new spurious parts imo

I would be better just getting one from renault then.

Thats what i thought, Never knew there was a big difference in earth straps.
I will price it up tomorrow when im in and see what they say.

There is 100s of straps to be bought but its just knowing the correct size and length

Its about 25mm wide 310mm long with a little whole each end for the bolts to go through.

Looks like this (Note this is off a mk1 clio but is near on identical)

Less than a tenner from Renault. I had to change mine as it fell apart and the car would not start.
