earth wire?

found this wire hanging underneath the front bumper at the passenger side?

looks like a earth strap, anybody know what it does?

I think thats the gearbox earth. Try and reconnect it some how but with it being a braided strap you might need to get another one.

Thats deffo the gearbox earth and will cause problems eventually... Go in to the passenger wheel arch and you'll be able to see where it should bolt to.

Mine just got replaced as original failed causing the immobiliser to lock the car down. Replacement is £4.99 from halfords and takes 10 mins to fix. Be warned the bolt on the wheel arch side is a bastart to get purchase on.

right il get that sorted then, strange, only light on dash is the airbag light, funny though the side repeaters stopped working recently, wonder if thats related
