Looking at pad options for the 5 as have a few events lined up.
The race guys use 'carbotec' but these are £300 for full set.
I can get Yellows for £120 for full set.
I know the green & red fall to bits (on track) but anyone used yellows??
have read posts in the past saying good things about the yellows, not many people have used them though i dont think, so could be worth a shot. only thing that would worry me is the fact ebc's generally do fall apart in my experience. i cant imagine it just being specific to the reds and greens.
Have had yellows on my last three cars (all used on track). For the money they are, I won't be changing anytime soon. People will come along and say this that and the other are better - and they could well be, but i guarantee you they'll be more money.
You'll also get some sage saying he tried the Greens once and they were crap, or the Reds weren't up to track work. they'd also be right, but the Yellows aren't comparable in the slightest to either of the other colours/compounds.
but yes, that would be me. i wouldnt say a bad thing about the yellows, as ive not tried them, i would however have a niggle in the back of my head that if the others fall apart whats saying the yellows wouldnt. ebc havent got the best rep.
I have been running them for bout 1 year and im pretty impressed TBH.
There are better pads out there but they didnt fall into my budget at the time.
I managed to a few sessions at the combe last year without any fading so cant complain
I have yellows on my Clio and can't complain, change your fluid for super blue or simelar and you can't really go wrong, I can get you a set for less than £120 aswell
