Ecar Insurance. (MUST READ)

  Fiesta ST-3
Basically i got a quote last night for £318 fully comp for the year with a 172 conversion in my car. Now surley this cannot be true? People say Ecar is sufferning problems but some one had a cheap as chips quote back on the 1st of december and they would of fixed the site by now if there was a problem. Anyone able to shed any light? Also a friend took out a policy yeasterday with them for £151 a year on his 1.4 coupe but that was third party fire and theft.

Sorry mate, basically the offer they gave in my eyes is too good to be true. Just wondered if anyone else perhaps had a cheap quote which they took out and is still valid? As i have heard of inusrers cancelling policys. Im undecided weather or not to take the offer they gave as it just seems too cheap. And nothing in this world is free.

Normally i would agree but with ecar they are mainly internet based. So you can purchase that quote online there and then like a friend did last night for £150. The worrie for me is that they will cancel the policy.

You should of kicked up a fuss! My mate did and ended up getting his Evo for £1300 FC with bell. When he rung up they said £1600 so he kicked up a fuss and go it cheaper!

I've had a lot of people say to me about 'problems' with Ecar people getting insurance for modified cars as little as £100 a year. I've been told there was a problem that the site isn't adding extra 0's on the end of the price.
But you do get a legal insureance policy posted to you for that price they quoted online.
Not sure if it will get canceld.

surely they can't cancel it if you purchase the cover for the price they have given you?!
it would be like buyin a car for 6k goin to pick it up and say they want 10k, so cant see how they can cancel it?

I understand what you mean. But I've heard of people insuranceing cars worth around 50K on that Ecar site for £120 a year. In a crash I very munch doubt they will pay out 50K on some thing that was paying £120 a year
