Ecu question

Can you get rid of your standard ecu & just have an omex or motec to work the engine, with a digital dash

Yes but you'll need to wire it all to suit. If your going to that level you might as well rip all the standard wiring out and rewire the entire car.

Alternatively run it as a piggyback with the standard ecu and retain the uch etc.

You need to splice into the original wiring harness mate basically. You only need to splice into certain wires though for your chosen ecu to do the magic.
