Are standard 172\182 ECU's interchangeable?

Or is there more to it than just swapping the ecu.

The ECU, UCH and chip in the key are all locked together.

You may also need a 172 cup one due to the different configuration e.g. no ABS, side air bags, ESP, etc.

Are you going to try swapping the ECU before you ditch the loom?

No, somone wanted to try my 438's but wasn't sure if I could swap the ecu over or if he needed a remap...

Wiring and ecu is all going....

Not entirely true, the setups can be re-configured to the specific vehicles hardware but it needs to be done by someone that knows what they're doing or else you end up with scrap.
