Egg marks

  Mk1 Maxim Sport
I had an egg thrown at the back of my car a while back by some mates messing around who covered my car in egg and flour as a joke (pissed me right off) however one egg that was thrown has left a mark on the boot, like a circular white pattern, ill take some pics tommorow but does anyone know any chemicals or wateva thatll get it out cause polish, tcut or trim wax dont work. cheers

Is it the paintwork thats marked ? Have you tried mEGGuiars scratch x ;) ??

If the egg was thrown at the paintwork unfortunatley the shell creates very fine deep marks on impact and in most cases it needs a repaint as they don't polish out.

It's usually around this time of year (when kids break up from school) that eggs get thrown around. I had one land on my old white clio a couple of years ago and I never did fully remove the egg shell. Once it sticks, it's vitually impossible to shift with just soap and water. AG Tar remover might help shift it, but at that time I didn't have the detaling bug and ddin't bother with such specialist cleanign products.

We get cars egg'd regularly on the forecourt, and unfortunately they need repainting as the egg eats the laquer.

Best be getting these 'mates' to cough up.

When the little sh1ts threw an egg at my car - luckily, most of it hit the windscreen. However, even though it was late at night and I looked a tool doing it - I washed the area throughly when I got home about 5 minutes later.

As above - the problems you get with dried-on egg, means that I'd act on it straight away....

With a bit of time and patience (and a touch up pen, wetsanding and a pc) it's possible to improve the marks.

Cheers for all the advice folks. the pictures that "al" posted above are exactly the same as the mark on my car. its pretty much identical so u have more of an idea. iv tried tar and glue remover stuff and that didnt work either, may just get it sanded down primed and respray it. cheers all.

The glue and tar won't work as the marks are deep into the paint. If wet sanding and polishing does not sort it you will need some paint.

Those are the exact marks I had on previous car I've always wondered what they were, t the time I just thought it was careless painting at a bodyshop.

I'd use touch up paint and lacquer to fill the white marks then G6 paste over the whole area with a mop and it should sort it out, G3's but too harsh for that. Just cutting the paint work worse those marks are too deep.
